When i was going on 1st class in highschool i saw boy who was in same class as me walking home after school. He was Matt. It looked to me he was carrying all of his books and schoolstuff with him.

I was thinking myself: "Why carrying all books with you at friday? Must be true sissy." I had myself lot going on for this weekend, party and football with my mates next day.

So I shrugged my shoulders and continued my walking. After a while i saw how crew of boys ran towards Matt. They impacted to Matt in purpous, threw all his books to ground and tripped him so he fall into mud. His glasses fly about three meters away into grass. He lifted up his head and his eyes looked very sad.

My heart hurted. I ran to Matt. He was crawling in ground looking for his glasses, tears in his eyes. While giving his glasses to him I said: "Those guys were jerks, they should be given life sentence." He looked at me and said "Thanks" and smiling widely. I saw in that smile real gratitude.

I help Matt to collect all his books from ground and asked where did he live. It turn out that he lived near to me, so I asked why i haven't seen him earlier around those streets. He said he had been in private school before coming into our class.

I have never had to do anything with private school student. We talked whole way to home and I carried half of his books. He turned out to be really nice guy.

I asked if he wanted to play football with my mates. He answered corroborative. We were hanging around whole weekend in same crowd, and more better I knew Matt the more I liked him. My mates agreed with me aswell.

Monday morning came and I saw Matt with his big pile of books. I stopped him and said he: "If he carries this much books everyday he is going to have huge muscles." He just laughed and gave me some of his books.

In next years me and Matt became best friends. At end of highschool we started to plan our future studying. Matt decided to start studying medicine and I choose business economics studies by due to my football scholarship. We would be studying in different cities but I was sure that distance between us would not affect anyway to our friendship.

Matt was valedictorian of our class. I teased him about it and called him sissy. Matt had to keep speech at graduation ceremony. I was really happy that I didn't have to stand up to stand to speech.

Graduationday I saw Matt who looked handsome. He had get well with himself in highschool years. He looked really good with his glasses and he had lots of girls surrounding him. Every girl had crush on him. Sometimes I envied him.

The great day came. I was able to see that Matt was nervous so I slammed him to back and said: "Listen, it will go well!" He looked at me and i saw that typical truly graduate look on his face and he said "Thanks!"

He cleared his throat and started his speech. "Graduation day its time to thank all those people who have helped students past these years trough these hard years. Parents, sisters, teachers, coaches who knows... but above all friends. Im standing here and saying you that best gift you can give to another person is be his friend. I am going to tell you little story now."

I watched suspiciously my friend when he started to tell that day when I first time met him. He had plans to kill him that weekend. He told how he had cleaned his school desk and take everything with him so his mother didn't need to go get those afterwards.

He looked straight to me and smiled. "I am really thankful that i was saved. My friend saved me doing something terrible." I heard audience gasping when this handsome, popular boy told us moment of his life when he had been most weak.

Just for note I have no idea if this story is true and name is obviously changed, I just found it finnish somewhere on internet and thought translating to you all as i think its really nice and touching story. smile And to be honest I had read week earlier about girl who killed herself because she had been bullied in school, as it was on news.

Well, bullying was and, I think, always will be present in children behavior. Ugly or not it's a part of our early life.

Worse is that now children not always can count on their parents to help them cope with their problems.
I'm entering the part of my life when I'm responsible for a well-being of my kids and I hope I'll be able to teach them that I may be helpful. Luckily my wife is pretty smart, so I'm not alone with it.

Thats truly sad to hear. sad I also know couple of guys been bullied schools i have been in and i bet many other here know too. Actually one is my mate now as i met him in highschool but i remember him back from 3rd grade. :d Wasn't in same class as i was tho and he moved to different school anyway for 4th glass. I never asked reason why he left but i have doubts it has something to do with bullying.. :/

This is so true and i would say that children not always tell their problems to parents. Or is that what u meant? biggrin And it seems also that teachers not having time to mess up with everything and they dont have eyes everywhere which makes it hard to control bullying.

it really was, because i was really "tiny" well tall but really thin or what u call it, but i used their own power against them, after i few times locked them, they simply left me alone, and one of them is my best friend these days, he just acted to be tough but hes not really so tough anymore, since i beat him up all day biggrin
