| I think we should update "Help & Guides" forum section.
Why we should update it?
ET just keeps getting older and it means it gets more and more "unsupported". A good example of this are the operating systems such as Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8. There ain't too much players in ET and we all know that. That is why it is important that they get all the support. To sum things up this will bring more players to our site and hopefully keep more players playing ET.
How we update it then?
I tried to find my config yesterday and took a quick search through the help section. There is tons of info but it's outdated (like one of my patching guide) or the solutions are scattered around the topic and replys.
So the main idea is to update, gather and produce.
Update = update the old guides with pictures and links etc. and remove the old infromation and replace it.
Gather = for example: we gather all the info about error messages and put them together in one single topic.
Produce = we simply create new guides.
Then we sticky the topics. Then I was thinking we create a page available through the main navigation (like Forum, Members etc.). On that page we will put links like this:
How to be awesome
The links will lead the player to the topics with the guide.
What can I do to help?
I was thinking like 5 people at most doing this. Too big team will make it confusing. So if you have a bit knowledge of some ET related things, you like snapping pictures or would like to write guides, please volunteer now.
If we get this thing going I will update the topic with change log about the help forums so everybody can keep track of what is going on in there. Please post your opinions and ideas regarding to this. That is how everybody can help!
Few examples and ideas:
-Installing and patching ET (step by step guide with complete installer and manual patching)
-Error messages (collection of different error messages and the solutions)
-Config collection (collection of member's configs)
