I've been over Balaton once, even this lake would do, but certainly there are many more places worth diving in.

That one is indeed deeper than a bathtube biggrin Balaton is a nice area, i like being there when it's not summer (as to me that's overly crowded >.<)

Soz wasent able to log in for some unknown reason. Ok 1st balaton is waaaay not deep enough for diving its like 3 m xD. But i learned to dive at Dörog lake it is 6 m deep, so it is not deep but a good place to learn has an underwater museum for divers ^^ . I dove in Malta at 25 m so i dont know many places in hungary. And yes i like the country but too lazy to learn hungarian and the drivers here are really bad... soo yh i hope that answers ur questions.

Dörog lake (...) has an underwater museum
Then granted some free time, I'll try to spend it here. Thanks.

This reminds me of my adventure.
Right after getting my diver licence, a few years back, with my friends, we tried to dive in some flooded quarry. I don't know why but there are left different machines used to dig , buildings and so on. A little underwater mining ghost town.
And I nearly died there. I swam into one of the diggers (into the cabin) and got stuck. I've waited like 30 mins for my mates to find me, unhook me and take me out.
Strangely I didn't panic. But this gave me a good lesson not to let my curiosity take me.
