| I too disagree with increasing the number of mines.
They're for tactical placement, not just for farming around the map, hoping it'll get some players.
Mines will be on every corner then, way too boring

| Well there is those who just farm the mines in some shitty places so if im engi i can't plant em cuz they are planted and can't defuse them neither..
Let's just put MINE Teamkill ON and let's see what happens. Then there would be little bitt less those mine farmers etc.

The compromise: Since Covps have infinitive amount of smoke and gas grenades, why not allow a similar thing to the engineer ? As you all know, better than me, the engineer has three types of mines at his disposal: M-mines, S-mines/bouncing betties (jump when stepped on) and poison gas mines. So why don't we disconnect the allowed numbers ?
M-mines and S-mines would be counted together and remain at : max 12 Poison gas mines would be counted separate: max 13 So in the end ALL the engineers together would have a total of 25 (12+13) mines at their disposal.
The poison gas mines have the same effect as poison gas grenades, only someone has to step on them in order to be activated. So it is the same as a poison as grenades thrown by covps (individual unlimited), but then only collectively limited to 13 and placed on the ground. No big deal, i think. . .
So any positive thoughts on this one ?
Another idea, was to allow same-team engineers to defuse mines. So when mines are badly placed, one can defuses them and place them somewhere else. This skill would be only allowed to those who have at least 10k xp engineering skill. But the problem is of course, that admins would have to handle conflict situations between the bit more experienced players. . . I dont play much jaymod but when i used to play and i was engi sometimes i never used those gas mines because they simply sucks ass. None ever dies on those tbh. If that is somehow arrangable without programming i think you could have like 1000 gas mines those simply wont kill anyone and are quite useless. But i cant do anything and this is only my thoughts.

I am aware of that, but since the increase of mines isn't going to happen, judging from the responses to the idea, I'm trying something else ...

And about gas mines, I don't really mind how many of them are there, but idk is it even possible to separate the mines by the way you just suggested, I'm guessing no. Besides, if there would be like 239472934 gas mines (like Sher said) those would be pretty effective. Since you can plant 234987 mines at the same spot and when someone steps on those, they all with 'explode' and cause a huge lag for a slower computer and then the player can't get away from it that fast and dies on it pretty fast...but idk
And I'm sure (not 100%) that we're going to refuse of your suggestion, since some of them ain't even possible to do, idk But I appreciate your suggestion and I hope you'll do more of them for getting our server to be better. But this ain't the final word, I'm sure it comes from the owner

I wrote it down, to see if there was another way to deal with the problems that come with the idea. But I guess there isn't one. On the other hand there are more problems then I thought of. So this idea isn't worth exploring any further.

I am aware of that. Poison gas mines aren't very effective. But since there is no majority of IA admins for the increase of mines , which are ( M and S mines )effective, I sought another way to get some more toys for the engineers . So I thought of poison gas mines.

To be honest, I didn't expect that it would be a problem to separate the mines.

I understand, yet I still keep hoping that it is possible, but what do I know . . .
Anyway thanks for considering the proposal, next time I'll try to think of the technical aspects too
