| Ye I know it's filmed from one perspective ;p
Thin red line is, as far as I recall it, a realistic movie. Most of the war movies just aren't realistic. But the moral and ending are quite soft. I don't know how to put it. The series I mentioned doesn't have it either, but are historically great. It's like a history lesson. Thin Red Line didn't make any impression on me. It might be because I had quite some expectations of it... Platoon for instance did make an impression on me, and I can remember it very clearly.

| Hmm agree, but Stalingrad is the most realistic one so far but Eastern Front. Both sides are suffering so hard, maybe not too much truth but better than too much propaganda heroism.

You meant the 1993 version I believe?

| - Letters from Iwo jima - Flags of our Fathers
2 films with the same place, time and situation only 'Letters from Iwo Jima' is from Japaneese perspective (the best of the 2 imo) And 'Flags of our Fathers' is from American perspective.
Both really worth watching.

| Bought 3 movies few weeks back; 1. Salt 2. Lockout 3. After Earth
I've seen Salt and Lockout now multiple times and I must say that even if critics don't like them in overall, Angelina Jolie's performance in Salt and Guy Pearce's performance in Lockout are so incredible that it makes me watch them over and over again (well, who doesn't like Angelina? )
I had high hopes on After Earth, though, since it was a movie from Will Smith (one of the greatest actors ever imo). I had read the previews and still thought that I'd like it, despite critic's opinions. But while watching it, I saw something missing. And it was that typical sci-fi stuff what you can see in that genre, especially in America. Not enough action and all "cool" was left to minimum. So, don't spend your money in it, watch it for free if possible
2/3 of these movies I can recommend
